Schenectady Irish Pride Campaign 2005 - This campaign is a reflection of our commitment to our proud heritage. Our "Renaissance of Irish Pride Campaign" will also enable us to continue to serve our entire community as we have done for more than a century.

125 Years of "Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity - Chartered in 1880, the Ancient Order of Hibernians of Schenectady has consistently supported hundreds of charities and community organizations. In livng our motto, we have always served the people of the City and County of Schenectady as well as the Capital District. In the last 50 years alone, our AOH/LAOH Divisions have contributed more than $1,000,000 to hundreds of causes; cultural and educational organizations, groups that share our concern for our youth, our elderly and those in need. Our commitment to the health and well being of our neighbors is a reflection of what we believe.

Planning for the Future - After a long and detailed study of the current and future needs of our AOH/LAOH Divisions in 2003 and beyond, we are committed to a $1,250,000 Capital Fund Drive. This campaign will allow us to grow and develop our facility to meet our future needs. We as Schenectady Hibernians have a proud tradition of community service, and we must remain able to continue the work we feel is our duty. We believe this is an appropriate way to celebrate our 125th anniversary which will occur in 2005.

Current and Anticipated Needs of Our Hibernian Home - While we have enjoyed record growth in our membership over the last few years, there are some serious financial issues that deserve our immediate attention. Bingo, a mainstay in helping us grow and prosper over the years, has declined, and may have to be curtailed altogether soon. We now find ourselves struggling to make ends meet.
Over the past 123 years we have shared over one million dollars with hundreds of worthy community organizations that have looked to us for support. Our pub and banquet hall are profitable, but if we want to continue to reach out to our community we have to develop new and increased ways to provide income to our division that will allow us to continue to fulfill our mission of "Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity" in Schenectady.
Current strategic planning calls for added space to hold meetings, more parking to accomodate our members, and more storage to house all the historical artifacts that we have acquired over the years. This is a daunting task facing us, but our leadership is confident that we can overcome all these problems with the understanding and support of our members, friends and community.

It is our sincere hope that you will take this opportunity to help insure the future of our home, the richness of our Irish heritage, and a positive legacy for our children.
